Soloist, Jeff Pelletier- Flutist

Jeff Pelletier's musical background started in high school in Maine with teachers Kathy Iovieno and Joan Curtiss. Though he started very late relative to most other musicians, flute was a natural and by the time he was a senior in high school he had won the Bangor Symphony Competition and was principal flute in the All-State Orchestra as well as being principal flute in both the Portland Youth Symphony and Mid-Maine Youth Orchestra. Following high school, he went on to study with Carl Bergner, and most notably, Julius Baker. Jeff has performed in master classes with Geoffrey Gilbert, Sam Baron, Jim Walker, Frances Blaisdell, Robert Willoughby and Carol Wincenc.

Before his arrival in California, Jeff was a member of the professional flute choir "The Howlin' Winds of Maine" and performed with them throughout the country. He was also the principal flutist in the Androscoggin Valley Chamber Orchestra and played with the Maine Chamber Ensemble.

Now residing in Livermore, Mr. Pelletier keeps an active performance schedule throughout the Bay Area. In addition to performing with the Livermore Amador Symphony and Ohlone Wind Symphony, Jeff is the founder of "Ventos", a professional woodwind quintet based in San Francisco.
