Membership
The Band is open to anyone with at least moderate instrumental playing
ability. Present membership includes about 60 active players plus another
50-60 persons available on call, all volunteers.
Members range in age from their teens to their eighties. They come from
all walks of lifeãeducation, health, engineering, science, technology,
business, retail, transportation, etc. Some have college and graduate
degrees in music, whereas others received all their music education in
high school; all continue enjoying music through the Band. Most reside
in the Tri-Valley Area communities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San
Ramon, Sunol, and Danville, although some are from as far away as Alameda,
Brentwood, Concord, Hayward, Oakland,
San Lorenzo, Stockton, and Walnut Creek.
Many members play in other musical groups as wellincluding the
Livermore-Amador Symphony, the Livermore Valley Opera, the Pleasanton
Playhouse Orchestra, the San Ramon Symphonic Band, the Stony Ridge Ramblers
Dixieland Jazz Band, Valley Brass, Vintage Brass Quintet, the Don Veca
Big Band, the Blackbird Jazz Band, and other community ensembles
and bands.
There are no dues to join the Band. For further information on joining
the Band, please call the Conductor or Personnel Manager.
